Fabulous Real Wedding: Halleh and Freeman's Oceanside Wedding in San Diego

We love so much about the FABULOUS wedding of Halleh and Freeman in San Diego, California. There are many brides who are planning a wedding while their fiance is deployed and Halleh is one of them. I love the way she tells the story of their love and her experience of planning the wedding while Freeman was away.
"My husband is an officer in the Navy. After the best year of my life and only three months after getting engaged, he was stationed in Bahrain, a small country in the Middle East. For the majority of our engagement we spent our days on the opposite side of the world. We shared Facetime calls every morning and evening. We sent love notes in the mail and video messages in our email inboxes. Being apart was one of the hardest things I’ve had to go through in my life, but planning for the wedding helped keep me busy, distracted, and that much more excited for the next time we would see each other. It was also a way to celebrate our love, pay tribute to the things that connected us, and keep me focused on the amazing times ahead (instead of the heartbreaking time I was going through.)
The bridal suite was gifted to us by our incredible friends and owners of the Pantai Inn, just across the street from the ceremony site. The suite was perfect! It overlooked the incredible Pacific Ocean and Palm trees. It was so spacious, with a living room, bedroom, and giant bathroom that allowed for the entire bridal party and more to sip our champagne and get ready.
Every part of the wedding and reception was DIY, handcrafted, and unique. The Save-the-Date and invitations combined modern typography with natural textures and a touch of sparkle that set the tone for the event. We decided to name our tables after all of the special places we had adventured together. Five Acres Agency (my company) designed a unique table sign and icon for each location as well as the menus for the plate settings.

Both my husband and I are gardeners, so it was very appropriate to give potted succulents for the wedding favors. I collected succulents over several months, planted them in the individual terracotta pots, and to finish them off hand stamped and tied the note to the greenery, instructing our guests to “plant with love.”
Freeman and I both grew up on the California coast and feel incredibly connected to the ocean. We chose one of the most beautiful spots in San Diego, La Jolla Cove, for an outdoor ceremony overlooking the teal blue waters.
In our marriage, we strive for a life of adventure, of risks, and to face the world head on. The photos on the cliffs of La Jolla captured our enthusiasm and playful spirit perfectly! Fun, silly, and romantic, these photos truly show who we are as a couple. It was an adventure in itself to get to the shooting location (I had to hop a wooden fence in my Mori Lee ball gown) but we had so much fun with it all! Waves were crashing from every angle, tourists were behind us, but I didn’t notice any of it. We were wrapped in the moment together and Lisa was photographing it all.
After the day was done and my new husband and I were back in the taxi on the way to the hotel, he told me it was the best day of his life. I knew it was mine too. All of the effort and love that went into each detail was felt and reciprocated by our incredible friends and family. I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day."
