Fabulous Event: The Not Wedding Los Angeles 2013

We were so honored to be among the best of the best at The NotWedding Los Angeles last month. We had 14 days to put together 6 tabletop designs and a floral concept for the bridal party bouquets and boutonnieres. The theme was Neon Weddings... YAY! So much fun!

Brides from all over Los Angeles gathered to participate in this alternative to a traditional bridal show. The NotWedding is a "fake" wedding where brides get a first hand look at how a wedding flows and it gives them a chance to see wedding vendors in their element... at work making FABULOUSNESS happen at a wedding.

Candice Benjamin Photography provided these amazing shots of this incredible event. The "bride and groom" have been married for 8 years. On this night, they renewed their vows in an emotional ceremony. Their close friends stood in as their bridesmaids and groomsmen and their super cute daughters were the flower girls. My favorite part of the night was watching their little princesses twirl and twirl in their little tutus! What cuties!
Her hot pink dipped train is EVERYTHING!
It was my greatest pleasure to create the bridal bouquets and boutonnieres. Next to her gown, this is one of the most important pieces to bring her look together. I am always nervous when presenting the bride with her bouquet. You are always hoping she will love it. Her smile told me all I needed to know. And I am quite pleased with how it came out. It is probably my favorite to date.
The event took place in Downtown Los Angeles at a hip new spot, Lot 613. I loved this space. And the food, provided by their in-house caterer, Premiere Events, was phenomenal!  We kicked it off with pre-ceremony cocktails and were led right into an emotional and sweet ceremony as the couple renewed their vows.
We were provided with stationery products by Smitten on Paper as a jumping off point for our tabletop designs. SO GORGEOUS!
I decided to create three different designs. My intention was to show how you can take one point of inspiration and spin three different looks and appeal to three different aesthetics, so the brainstorming began.

For the traditional bride, I created a table design utilizing a white lantern surrounded by a floral wreath. We dipped votive cups in gold glitter and placed a single hot pink garden rose in each. A satin white crinkle linen was placed on the tables to provide a little texture but allow the colors to pop.

For the whimsical bride, we handcrafted a couple of super cute solar-powered marquee signs. These signs light up at night and were quite the show stopper. We wrapped votives in vellum paper and embellished them with magenta washi tape and placed a tiny little gold succulent in each. A white satin crinkle linen graced the table for additional texture and visual interest. Each chair was adorned with a cute LOVE or KISS bunting.
Brides who love a more vintage or old library theme will love our next table design. Using owl vases and words of wisdom, we infused a look that has both feminine and masculine touches. We created table runners and chair garland made out of vintage book pages. Books were wrapped in grosgrain ribbon and banner signs were strategically placed around the decor with the wise words found in 1 Corinthians 13:4-8.
We were so blessed to collaborate with Smitten On Paper, who created the cutest table numbers, menu cards, Smitten button pins, XO confetti, fabulous favor boxes filled with Hershey Kisses and temporary tattoos... that's right TEMPORARY TATTOOS! How super fun! They were a huge hit.  How fun would it be for your wedding guests to receive temporary tattoos when they arrive in your reception. We loved them!
All of the vendors involved came together to make this one spectacular event.  Just look at this FABULOUSNESS:
After dinner was served, guests had the opportunity to meet the vendors in the "Tunnel of Love". We had a simple yet pretty table set up and met some of the sweetest brides in the world.
The amazing Amari Productions put together this same-day edit video that we all had the pleasure of watching.  So fun for the guests to be able to watch a video of moments shared just a tad bit earlier.
Victoria and I had a really great time. Everything came together so nicely! What a fantastic night.
