Fabulous Style: The Emmys 2012

The Emmys were held last night and my favorite part of any award show is watching the gowns grace the red carpet. I have to be honest, last night I was a tiny bit disappointed because I felt the red carpet gowns were  a tiny bit boring this year, but I still was able to spot a bit of FABULOUSNESS in spite of it all.  Here are my top five favorite Emmy gowns.
Padma Lakshmi was stunning in a tangerine tango Monique Lhullier. I absolutely loved everything about her look, including her soft wavy hair and minimal jewelry. The color is so stunning against her skin tone. She was absolute FAB!

Julianne Hough was gorgeous in this pale aqua Georges Hobeika mermaid gown. I especially love the petals along the bottom. I do wish she would have worn her hair in a soft curl, but overall she was beautiful.

Ginnfer Goodwin! I love her sassy pixie haircut and this absolutely fantastic retro-style gown, also designed by Monique Lhullier! And look at how she angles her face. She looks like a model. Absolutely beautiful. Oh and did you see her shoes? I DIE!
A spin on Cinderella's slipper! I love them so much, you have no idea.

Criticized by covering her gold beaded Marchesa gown with yards of blue tulle, Hayden Panettiere threw all caution to the wind. And I am so glad she did. I actually like the way the gown peeks through the tulle. Yes, you heard me correctly. As much as I stay away from tulle, I am loving this look. It's quite stunning.

And then there is Heidi Klum. I love this, but not so much for the gown, since it's not unusual or different. But because on Heidi, with her soft golden hair, she looks like she just stepped out of a Grecian romance. I love the softness of her look and even how her perfectly tanned leg peeks out of it's folds.

So there you have it. I love red carpet gowns because they provide me with so much design inspiration. Tomorrow I will share with you a couple of style boards inspired by a couple of these amazing looks.

Simply stunning that Heidi. Her style will never be AUT! lol

What did you think of Claire Danes' dress? Wondering if she's preggers, given the cut?

Thx, I loved your picks. Warmly, Dina

Dina, Heidi was absolutely stunning. I think I heard a rumor about Claire Danes. Honestly, think there are other, more beautiful and gorgeous ways to be preggo and wear a red carpet gown. So many others have done it better. Hoping the next awards show have a bit more interest on the red carpet.
