Fabulous DIY Project: Watercolor Save the Dates + Thank You Cards

One of my favorite pretty paper blogs ever is Oh So Beautiful Paper. It never ceases to disappoint. There I find so many amazing wedding invitations, unique Save the Date ideas and and an abundance of really cool DIY projects. Take this one on watercolor save-the-dates and thank you cards by Antiquaria, for instance. Sure this requires a time commitment and a bit of patience, especially if you have a sizeable wedding. But the outcome is FABULOUS! And you can easily apply this technique to any of your wedding day papers or other party invitation ideas. See for yourself...
You do not need to have loads of artistic skills to create these. One of the best things about them is that each one will have a uniqueness to it.

How to:
  • On pre-cut pieces of watercolor paper, get creative with painting. These cards were painted with uneven stripes using a beautiful shade of tuquoise and a pretty watery shape on the save-the-date. {TIP: Go easy with the water to achieve a nice flat card. Too much water will make your paper buckle or ripple while drying}
  • This step uses a custom designed calligraphy stamp. However, you can also choose to hand calligraphy these items. If you are using a stamp, be sure the card is placed on a hard surface. Ink your stamp and place it in the center of  your card using even pressure.
  • Lastly, you can either use a custom designed calligraphy stamp or hand calligraphy the back flap of your envelopes for the return address.
And there you have it! Easy and yet still FABULOUSLY beautiful cards for your soiree!

Until Next Time, Stay Fabulous!

Can you tell me where I can find the stamp used as the save the date? I've been looking everywhere for one like that.
